The Labview block diagram execution flow is left to right in a parallel fashion as computers processor resources become available. At run time, the bioreactor program is passed a data value reference (DVR) to the shared bioreactor parameters. The program bundles the bioreactor parameters in a data cluster with references to all front panel indicators and controls (1 & 2). In response to a front panel transitions, a message is created with the data cluster and action instructions (3) and enqueued in a massage queue (4) that is shared with the consumer loop. The consumer loop waits for (5), and dequeues messages (6),executing the instructed actions with the provided data cluster.
