Transgenic expression of human CES1 increases the flux of [³H]cholesterol from HDL-CEs to bile. WT C57BL/6 (WT) and transgenic (LCEH2) mice were injected (iv) with [³H]CE-labeled HDL (HDL-[³H]CE) and gall bladder bile was collected after 48 h. Following phase separation of bile acids and biliary cholesterol, radioactivity associated with each fraction was determined.
