(A) Weight changes in C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice after challenge with AH/1/H7N9 virus. Healthy young C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice (equal numbers of males and females) were infected intranasally with 106 TCID50 of AH1/H7N9 virus and monitored for 14 days. The body weights were measured daily (n = 12) and the data are expressed as the mean ± standard deviation (SD). (B) Gross pathology of the lungs from C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice at day 3 postviral infection.
