Npn-1 (A, D) and Npn-2 (B, E) are expressed in distinct, and overlapping, populations of fibers at E14 and E16. Merged images (C, F) highlight the tuft-like structures that exclusively express Npn-2 at both stages of embryonic development, and demonstrate that ST fibers express both Npn-1 and Npn-2.
