Daily rhythms of heart rate, RMSSD, spectral power in HF band (0.75–2.5 Hz) and LF (0.2–0.75 Hz) to HF ratio in 4-month-old Wild-type (n = 10) and Wistar (n = 10) rats. These values (reported as means ± s.e.m.) were obtained by averaging multiple 2-min segments acquired every hour during the 12 hours-light and 12 hours-dark phases, as previously described in detail (Carnevali et al., 2013a). Results of Two-Way ANOVA for repeated measures: group difference for heart rate (F = 103.7, p < 0.01), RMSSD (F = 6.8, p < 0.05) HF (F = 7.4, p < 0.5), and LF to HF ratio (F = 4.4, p < 0.05) values.
