Cx. quinquefasciatus mosquitoes have been fed with blood meals containing the different WN virus strains used. The virus titer of the blood meal was quantified after the feeding procedure and mentioned. After incubation, mosquitoes were analyzed for infection (

number of mosquitoes containing virus in their bodies among the total), dissemination (

number of mosquitoes containing virus in their legs and wings among the infected mosquitoes) and transmission (

§

number of mosquitoes containing virus in their saliva among the mosquitoes with dissemination). Na = not applicable. Exp1 and Exp2 correspond to 2 independent experimental infections.
