(A) Genomic DNA isolated from wild type (WT), and mixed lineage kinase 3 (Mlk3)−/− mice was examined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis. (B) Body weights of WT and Mlk3−/− mice on chow and HFHC diet were measured on weekly basis throughout the 16-week period of the study. (C) Total caloric intakes of the WT and Mlk3−/− mice on chow and HFHC diet were assessed by food and water quantification over a week. (D) Liver protein extracts were prepared from the HFHC-fed WT and Mlk3−/− mice. Immunoblot analyses were performed for phosphorylated C-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK-P); total JNK, and β-actin were used as control for protein loading.
