PrpR represses dnaA gene expression during growth on propionate. Total RNA was extracted from cultures grown in M9 minimal medium containing glucose, acetate or propionate (0.5 %) as the carbon source. PCR was carried out with primers RT_MtdnaA_Fw and RT_MtdnaA_Rv. The mRNA levels of dnaA were normalized with respect to that of the constitutively expressed housekeeping gene, sigA. Means were calculated from three independent experiments and three determinations per experiment. The error bars indicate standard deviations of triplicate samples.
