The means ± sd (n = 15) for different methods and different directions of induced water flow are shown, together with the P values for the main effects of method and flow direction. The method × flow direction interaction term was only significant (P = 0.008) for T_1/2. For all parameters, the main effect of cells was very highly significant (data not shown).
