Pro-inflammatory cytokine production by monocytes and macrophages is elevated in patients with Huntington’s disease. Innate immune regulators such as IL-6, IL-8 and TNFα were elevated in Huntington’s disease patients (A) blood monocytes and (B) macrophages collected from two independent patient cohorts, stimulated in vitro with 10 ng/ml IFNγ and 2 µg/ml lipopolysaccharide for 24 h.
