A) Experimental set-up for recording the RIII reflex. The sural nerve (sn) was stimulated behind the lateral malleolus, using a pair of surface electrodes. The electrical responses were recorded (rec) from the ipsilateral biceps femoris muscle (bi) using a pair of surface electrodes.
