Affinity-purified antibodies specifically recognize their respective proteins. Western blots containing protein extracts from the lobster nervous system were probed with anti-D_1αPan (a) or anti-D_1βPan (b) or anti-D_2αPan (c) antibodies. For each antibody, nervous systems from multiple lobsters were individually examined (n ≥ 3). The molecular weight standards for each western blot are indicated. The predicted molecular weights of the receptors are: D_1αPan ∼ 76 kDa, D1_βPan ∼ 48 kDa, D_2αPan ∼ 66 kDa.
