Simple model prediction of ${\mathcal{R}}_{{\mathbf{P}}_{\text{TM}}}$ [compare to Fig. 3B] found with the input impedance of the middle ear and the acoustic impedance of the MEC. The input impedance is known from previous experimental studies, and the MEC acoustic impedance was based on a model of a cavity with complex termination.
