ST6GAL1-specific siRNAs inhibited ST6Gal 1 expression and SAα2,6Gal synthesis. Respiratory epithelial cells were transfected with control or ST6GAL1 siRNAs (A) At 48 h post-transfection, ST6GAL1 mRNA expression levels were quantified. (B) Candidate siRNAs reduce ST6GAL1 expression in a dose-dependent manner. (C) FACS analysis showed a decrease in SAα2,6Gal expression on ST6GAL1 siRNA-treated cell surfaces.
