Table 1. Microtentacles correlate with stem-cell surface markers in human breast cancer cell lines.

A panel of breast cancer cell lines with an established increasing range of invasiveness, metastatic potential and microtentacle levels were measured by flow cytometry using breast cancer stem cell surface markers CD44 and CD24 for subpopulations of stem-like (CD44hi/CD24lo) and non-stem-like cells (CD44lo/CD24hi).
