Effects of selected microRNAs (miRNAs) on the contraction of human trabecular meshwork (HTM) cells in collagen gels. HTM cells were transfected with miRNA mimics or scrambled controls embedded in collagen gels and exposed to culture media with serum. Inhibition of cell contraction mediated by each miRNA was calculated based on the difference between the gel surface compared to controls. miR-204, miR-155, and miR-200c significantly inhibited HTM cell contraction (n=3, t-test, *P<0.01).
