Transplantation of hGDAs^BMP into the 6-OHDA model of PD protects striatal parvalbumin-positive interneurons.

1. Parvalbumin (PV, Alexa488) and GFAP (Alexa568) staining of ventrolateral striatum in matched sections of the ipsi-and contralateral striatum of placebo and hGDA^BMP treated animals. PV-staining is dramatically reduced in the injured hemisphere of placebo treated animals, while hGDA^BMP transplantation restores the number of PV⁺ cells in the injured striatum. Scale bar = 250 μm.
