Novel withanolides induce G2/M cell-cycle arrest in MTC cells. A, PI staining by flow cytometry of DRO81-1 cells exposed to WGA cells at concentrations of 1–6 μmol/L for 24 and 48 hours. Of note there is a significant shift in cell-cycle arrest with an increase in the size of the G2/M peak with increasing dose of WGA treatment at 48 hours. B, Bar graphs with quantitative shifts in the cell cycle of DRO81-1 cells treated with either WGA, WGB-MA, or WGB-DA for 24 or 48 hours. The shift was significant to G2/M arrest with withanolide treatment. (Color version of figure is available online.)
