Novel withanolides inhibit clonogenic growth in MTC cells. Inhibition of clonogenic growth formation by WGA at 1 μmol/L drug concentration; WGB-MA and WGB-DA inhibited growth at only 250 nmol/L concentrations, consistent with IC50 values. This assay suggests that the anticancer effects of withanolides on MTC cells are longer term and not easily reversible. (Color version of figure is available online.)
