Recombinant hMPVs triggered a high neutralizing antibody titer in cotton rats. Cotton rats were immunized with each recombinant hMPV intranasally at a dose of 2.0 × 105 PFU per rat. Blood samples were collected from each rat weekly by retro-orbital bleeding. The hMPV neutralizing antibody was determined using a plaque reduction neutralization assay, as described in Materials and Methods.
