The proportion of piglets with diarrhea increased (P = 0.055), whereas the dry matter in the feces decreased (P = 0.003) following weaning and challenge with E. coli. The piglets were weaned on day 0 and challenged with E. coli F18 on day 1, 2, and 3 postweaning. Fecal samples were collected and diarrhea assessed on day 0 before the piglets were moved to the nursery pen.
