The serum level of IgE was dramatically upregulated in mice receiving OVA sensitization and challenge (n = 10) compared with mice receiving sham treatment (n = 5). In OVA-sensitized and challenged animals, serum IgE was significantly reduced in mice treated with 10 or 20 mg/kg sesamin (n = 8 and 8) but not with 1 mg/kg sesamin (n = 9), compared with mice treated with vehicles. Each bar represents the mean ± S.E.M. Statistical significance was defined as ### p<0.01 compared with the sham group; and * p<0.05, ** p<0.01 compared with the OVA+vehicle group.
