Induction of MCF-7 cell aggregation by serine protease treatment of FBS- or FN-coated wells. FBS-coated wells (a) or FN-coated wells (b) were treated overnight with cathepsin G (○), elastase (●), chymotrypsin (▲), or trypsin (■). Next, MCF-7 cells suspended in 1% BSA-medium were seeded and incubated for 24 h. The cell aggregation index was evaluated as described in the legend of Figure 2. The results are expressed as means ± SD (n = 3). When the bars are not shown, they are smaller than the size of the symbols.
