Effect of administration of naked IL-12 DNA on tumor growth. The potential therapeutic effect of naked DNA/IL-12 was evaluated in an experimental tumor model. Each group of mice (n = 5) was challenged subcutaneously with 5 × 105 BMK-16/myc cells. When the tumor reached 20–30 mm3 in size, in the tumor sites were injected three-times (every six days) with 50 μg pNGVL3-mIL-12 (asterisks), pcDNA3 plasmid (triangle), PBS (square), or no treatment as control (diamond). Tumor size was measured every 3 days over 27 days. Values and bar represent the average and standard deviations of the tumor size. ANOVA, P < 0.05.
