Purified PGX1 Exhibits PG Activity in
Vitro.
(A) Immunoblotting using anti-His antibody shows that soluble
His-tagged PGX1 is expressed in E. coli after induction. M,
prestained protein standard (Bio-Rad). Star indicates the size of His-SUMO
alone, and asterisk indicates the predicted size of His-SUMO-PGX1.
(B) The specific activity of PGX1 was calculated from three
different samples. PG activity units
are defined as the amount of enzyme that releases 1 μmol of reducing end
groups per minute per milligram of protein at 30°C. Purified protein
from empty vector cultures was used as a control. Error bars indicate
sd.
