Matrine inhibits cell migration and adhesion. The migratory behavior of BGC823 cells was analyzed in a wound-healing assay. After 24 h, cell migration at the wound margins was significant in the control group and markedly inhibited in the matrine treatment group (A). The percentage of wound closure was significantly reduced in response to treatment with either 50 or 100 μg/mL of matrine (B). The effect of matrine on the adhesion ratios of human gastric cancer cells was quantified with an MTT assay. Statistical data that corresponded to both Fn (C) and Matrigel (D). n=4.
