Biphasic variation of beating rate as a function of RyR calcium sensitivity. Increasing RyR sensitivity increases rate up to a point, but higher sensitivity (lower IC50) produces a pathological premature diastolic calcium release, causing a kink in the phase-plane loop and paradoxical decrease in beating rate.
