Naïve Irf4fl/fl and Irf4fl/flCD11cCre mice were sacrificed and assayed for dendritic cell populations in the inguinal lymph node (A), spleen (B), and lung (C). An Irf4−/− mouse is included in LN and spleen to show known defects in DC populations. (D) Intracellular IRF4 staining or GFP expression from bone marrow pre-DCs (Lin− CD11clo/+ CD11b− MHCIIlo/− Flt3+) and DCs (CD11c+ MHCII+), and lung lymphocytes and DCs (CD11c+ MHCII+ Autolo) from naïve Irf4fl/fl and Irf4fl/flCD11cCre.
