A known nonconsensus TRE exhibits an ability similar to that of the consensus DR4 TRE to respond to T4 vs T3 in CHO and HEK293T cells. A, CHO cells were transiently transfected as described for Figure 3 except with a DR4-M-tk-luciferase reporter derived from the murine leukemia virus. Luciferase values were normalized against the β-galactosidase control for each sample and plotted as percent T3 maximum. Error bars indicate SEMs of at least 3 replicate experiments.
