Values represent the results obtained for individual eyes in two independent experiments (Roman numerals), each of which was performed under identical conditions, with each experiment comprising either four (MRSA) or six (MSSA) rabbits per treatment group.

In calculating the median, numbers of CFU below <0.003 × 10⁴ were considered zero (sterile corneas).
