Genetic evidence suggests that Gib2 promotes cAMP levels through the Ras1-Cac1 interaction. A, Ras1 negatively regulates melanin formation, whereas Cac1 is required for melanin formation (cAMP signaling) in all of the strains including F4 (gpa1 GAL7-GIB2).
