MiR-34a directly targets Bcl-2. (a) miR-34a binding site in the 3′-UTR and mutated site in 3′-UTR of Bcl-2 in the luciferase reporter. (b) Ectopic expression of miR-34a or palmitate treatment significantly suppressed the protein level of Bcl-2 in Min6 cells. (c) miR-34a inhibited the Bcl-2 expression by interacting with the 3′-UTR of Bcl-2. Min6 cells were cotransfected with the luciferase reporter vector containing wild-type or mutated 3′-UTR and miR-34a mimic or control oligonucleotides.
