Initially, both stress groups gained weight (A and B) at the slower rate relative to their controls; however, this reduction in the rate of weight gain persisted past PD50 in the Chow+Stress group only. A significant difference between stress groups was observed on PD 70. Overall, rats with access to the palatable diet consumed more calories relative to chow-fed rats (C). No significant difference in preference for the palatable diet was observed (D).
