The time line of the discounting task adapted from Peters and Büchel.13,14 After a trial start cue, participants were required to decide whether they preferred the presented delayed reward over a fix 10€ immediate reward. Subsequently, they had to indicate their decision as quickly as possible (green checkmark: delayed, red cross: immediate). After decision feedback, a jitter interval preceded the next trial onset. For computational modeling of the participants' choices during the task, please refer to Supplementary Table S3 and Supplementary Figure S2.
