Normal programming of CD8+ T cell memory in Fas or FasL mutant mice. WT, Fas mutant, and FasL mutant mice were infected with 104 LM-OVA. Thirty days after infection, CD8+ T cells were purified from spleens of infected mice and adoptively transferred (1 × 106/mouse) into naive WT, Fas, and FasL mutant mice. Sixty days after cell transfer, spleens were removed from recipient mice and tested for cytolytic activity against OVA257–264, as described in Fig. 1.
