Definitions of social and physical self-management of health

Type Definition
Social
Ensuring personal social comfort while supporting mental and physical well-being, such as
 
– participating in valued social activities,
 
– maintaining rewarding interpersonal relationships,
 
– seeking help and support from capable people in informal and formal social networks.
Physical
Ensuring physical comfort, health and physical and mental well-being, such as
 
– maintaining a balanced diet and an appropriate level of physical activity,
 
– keeping warm or cool,
 
– avoiding harms to health,
  – following safe sex practices, including using condoms, getting immunizations and regular physical examinations.
