First-trimester levels of PAPP-A (measured via the DELFIA(R) Xpress PAPP-A immunoassay kit) were significantly lower in pregnancies resulting in an SGA infant compared with controls but not in PE/SGA or PE, regardless of whether or not preterm samples (prior to 37 weeks, but at least 34 weeks, indicated by open symbols) were included. One sample (plus symbol) was from a pregnancy that subsequently developed PE and resulted in an SGA baby. Horizontal lines represent the least squares means from a general linear model including the effects of PE and SGA.
