Distribution of SK1 channel subunit mRNA in the CNS at postnatal stages P1, P3, P6, P12, and P24 is shown in X-ray images of sagittal (A,C,E,G,I,K) and horizontal (B,D,F,H,J,L) sections hybridized with an oligonucleotide probe specific for SK1. Strong hybridization signals are present in the anterior olfactory nucleus (AO) and olfactory tubercle (Tu), cerebral cortex (Cx), hippocampal formation (Hi), and several thalamic nuclei. For details on the distribution see Table4. Control sections (K,L) were hybridized in the presence of 100-fold excess cold oligonucleotide, showing a uniformly low background signal.
