The full model was adjusted for sex, physical activity, smoking, and waist circumference. Age was used as timescale. To the full model the following covariates were added separately: diabetes (T2DM), systolic blood pressure (BP), liver disease, and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). High SDMA levels were categorized according to the age- and sex-specific 66th percentile (reference: low: <33th percentile).
