The mean cluster size 〈n(t)〉 of mobile lipids in the Lo phase as a function of the observation window t. Clustering is most pronounced on the same time scale that displacements are most non-Gaussian. Clustering diminishes on the time scale of diffusive motion. The inset shows the characteristic peak cluster size grows on cooling away from the Lo-Ld phase transition.
