The figure shows meta-analysis of early BP lowering on long-term stroke recurrence (A.), long-term myocardial infarction (B.) and long-term combined vascular events (CVE) from 3 to 12 months (C.) after acute stroke. Risk ratios (RR) and their 95% confidence intervals (CI) were estimated event rates of intervention (BP lowering) compared with control (placebo). Overall effects were tested by Z tests and the heterogeneity of between-studies was tested by χ² test and measured as the value of I².
