Sera collected from children living in Mbandji 2 were tested for the presence of anti-M. ulcerans 18 kDa shsp IgG by Western Blot analysis. No specific bands were detected for very young children below the age of four. An ELISA positive control serum (OD = 0.963) was included between each of the age groups tested (+; arrow at band corresponding to size of the 18 kDa shsp).
