Integrin-linked kinase (ilk) heterozygous mutants have increased lifespan. The lifespan of ilk54-wCS/+ (red), mysXG43/wCS (blue), and wCS (control, black) flies was examined. ilk54 and mysXG43 were introgressed into the wCS wild-type background for six generations. Top, the survival curves of female wCS (mean 32 days, N = 222), ilk54-wCS/+ (mean 51 days, N = 217), and mysXG43/+ (mean 62 days, N = 222) flies. Bottom, the survival curves of male wCS (mean 36 days, N = 222) and ilk54-wCS/+ (mean 59 days, N = 207) flies. As mys is X-linked and hemizygous mys/Y flies are lethal, males could not be examined.
