An example of a PbN cell that responds to taste stimuli only on a short timescale. A: responses to taste stimuli over several seconds. At this timescale, no taste responses are apparent. B: responses to taste stimuli shown on a shorter timescale. Here it is apparent that the cell responds significantly to all taste stimuli except citric acid.
