The HPS calculation was based on seven prognostic factors: PSA, Gleason score, serum lactate dehydrogenase, AP, hematocrit, presence of visceral disease, and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group functional status. Correlations were assessed with Kendall correlation coefficients (τ) and their associated P values.
