FIGURE 7. — Bexarotene and 9-cis-RA increase apoE lipidation. Immortalized astrocytes were cultured in serum-free conditioned media with 9-cis-RA (9RA; 1 μm) or bexarotene (Bex; 0.1 μm). The condition media were concentrated and then fractioned by size-exclusion chromatography on FPLC using tandem Superose-6 columns. Concentrations of apoE (A) in each fraction and cholesterol (B) in selective fractions were analyzed by ELISA or fluorometric assay, respectively.
