Insulin resistance (IR) was induced in rats with a high-fat high-fructose diet fed for 12 weeks, and PTX (30 mg⋅kg−1⋅day−1) was administered during the last 4 weeks of the study in IR-PTX and C-PTX groups while control (C) received normal diet. The recorded ECG before and after isoproterenol injection in all groups (a) and isoproterenol-induced ST height depression (b) is shown. By one-away ANOVA and Newman Keuls post hoc test: ***p<0.001, compared with the corresponding control group; ###p<0.001 compared with the corresponding IR group.
