The effect of visfatin on MUC8 and MUC5B expression in normal nasal epithelial cells. (A) RT-PCR showed that a significant increase of MUC8 and MUC5B mRNA expression by treatment with all dosages of visfatin. (B) RT-PCR showed that visfatin-induced MUC8 and MUC5B mRNA expression were significantly attenuated by pretreatment with SB203580 as a p38 MAPK inhibitor.
