Test Image 2 quantification for modified substratum coverage and the bacteria associated with the surface. The modified substratum coverage (Equation 2) represents the bacteria on top of the irregular surface, but does not include any bacteria colocalized with the surface. The number of pixels, volume (μm³), and percent of bacteria associated with the surface (%) were enumerated for the bacteria associated with the surface using a single pass through our scripts.
