After ligation of bile duct, the animals were administrated with free bilirubin, bilirubin ditaurate, or biliverdin by intragastric gavage. The amounts of trypsin (A) and chymotrypsin (B) in middle small intestine were assayed by ELISA kit after 48 h. The data are expressed as mean ± SD from 8 independent animals, *p<0.05 **p<0.01 vs. respective control vs. respective BDL 48 h group.
